โ ๏ธ Pre-calculated emissions are only available for beta-users for now. We will notify you when this feature becomes available.
Pre-calculated emissions data sources let you import emissions that have already been calculated outside of Altruistiq. This helps you analyse all your emissions data in one place, regardless of where the calculations were originally done.
When should I use pre-calculated emission data sources?
Use pre-calculated emissions when you want to:
Import emissions calculated in other carbon accounting systems to analyse them alongside your Altruistiq calculations
Upload emissions you've calculated in spreadsheets to bring them into the platform
Include emissions calculated using methods that Altruistiq doesn't currently support
Pre-calculated emissions are replacing "Custom calculations" feature. Now you can upload your emissions independently of AQ team.
How do I create a pre-calculated emissions data source?
Go to Corporate Data and click Add data source
2. Select Pre-calculated Emissions as your data source type
3. Choose the activity area your pre-calculated emissions cover (see "What activity area should I choose when creating a new data source?" below for guidance)
4. Give your data source a clear, descriptive name
5. Your data source is now created. You can download the template to start adding your data.
What activity area should I choose when creating a new data source?
Choose from the 5 activity areas that align with Altruistiq's Activities Framework.
You can create a single data source that covers multiple activities within the same activity area (for example, both Electricity Use and Heating Use). However, if your data spans multiple activity areas, we recommend creating separate data sources for each one.
Note: You can use the "All Activities" template to upload multiple activity areas in a single data source, but this limits some validation and pre-filling features.
What data do I need to provide for pre-calculated emissions?
For all activity areas you would need to provide:
Facility or Business Unit the emissions should be assigned to
Emission description and identifier (optional - helps link to your raw data)
Date of emissions
Calculation method (Altruistiq and GHG classification)
Activity input quantity and units
Emission quantity (split by lifecycle stage and scope category where relevant)
Scope category assignment
Whether emissions are estimated
Supplier information (optional)
