Inbound Logistics PCF Estimations

Understand how you can apply inbound logistics estimations to your PCFs calculations

Updated this week

Overview

The Inbound Logistics module estimates emissions from transporting finished goods from your suppliers to your production facility.

Impact Stage Coverage

This estimation function specifically covers the Inbound Logistics Impact Stage, which maps to the Logistics Altruistiq Activity.

Approach

For inbound transport emissions you can either choose to upload primary data via a data source, or use this estimation method.

If you opt for the estimation method, the following defaults will be applied and use to calculate emissions for each packaging and material inputs you use in your products.

Europe – Packaging materials (besides glass)

  • Truck (>32t, EURO 4, Diesel): 230 km

  • Train (average freight train): 280 km

  • Ship (barge): 360 km

Europe – Glass bottles

  • Truck (>32t, EURO 4, Diesel): 350 km

  • Train (average freight train): 39 km

  • Ship (barge): 97 km

Europe – All other products

  • Truck (>32t, EURO 4, Diesel): 130 km

  • Train (average freight train): 240 km

  • Ship (barge): 270 km
